hey everyone welcome back to Pearl TV I'm Axel almond and I'm Jack and Gomez we're here with more student made segments part of Daniel probe Magnet High this episode is all about looking back celebrating creativity and seeing where the Perl Community is headed next we're kicking things off with graduate students now college students to hear how their time here from navigating the future to tackling college classes these alumni reflect on the memories lessons and moments at dpmhs that help prepare them for Life After High School look you're Daniel Pearl we're we have we actually have Knights where we hang out with friends and we take our time to actually do our work and you know socialize because it's also a fun place to have you know I like this school offered me a lot of opportunities for my own personal development not just as a person but also career-wise I wanted to go to a smaller school and compared to Birmingham Birmingham has like 3,000 kids and I really wanted to focus on my studies and my classes and Daniel Pro seemed like a good fit for that through the journalism program here we were able to visit Boston um for the nspa journalism trip a few of us were nominated and um we want to make cool Awards because it's it's for the most part pretty small the classes here you're able to Community 101 for teachers like you know difficulty they can actually spend time to talk with you I think that the school provides um ways for students to kind of speak up for themselves in a sense like we have students like for example in the publication there are people who are editor and Chief and like and leave Physicians they're able to take charge and kind of get used to being leaders and um running things in terms of like skills that I've acquired I became an amazing writer I truly I thought I write well in general but the school just completely revamped my writing skills Reading Writing has always been 1 of my strengths my teachers have told me and so I thought let me give that a try by joining the pro post or School news publication and go to a place where I can expand on the skills that I have and turn them into something that I can use in my future career there are more opportunities for journalists I will admit because of how amazing the journal is a program is and how a for video production there are more programs for um conventions and basically going out of your comfort zone doing things like back in eighth grade I would never have imagined me interviewing people during a time but now I'm interviewing people this school is a journalism school so obviously it gives you know opportunities for people to explore journalism and like a lot of media opportunities as well like different you know issues in media whether it be a video production or journalism or music you know those are all types of like I guess art media so um you know if you're really like looking for um a more creative side of uh education you know keeping chess has that for you it definitely we definitely gave me a a better chance to understand like what kind of person do I want to be and what kind of new uh start I want to put myself as is going to adulthood uh I feel like I've definitely grown as a collaborator as someone who can understand how to manage a group of people and work with different people based on various personalities and also I learned a lot about time management I really loved it at first I didn't think I would but I really do and I've had the best experience here and I feel like it's because I've gotten involved in school and like helping people and just talking to a lot of people and yeah that made both my experience really memorable I felt really close knitted and close to the community here right off the bat it was challenged herself don't limit yourself see how far you can go and see how far you can grow because of that there's really something for everyone I feel like don't forget to have fun and take every experience you have whether positive or negative as a learning lesson and use it to to make yourself a better person going out than when you came in I'm so grateful that I chose Daniel Pearl and um I hope other had a great experience like me and I want to miss so cool to hear how do you pay my chest left the last we're proud to see our alumni out there thriving and caring a little Prosper with them everywhere they go it's time for another installment of virtual travel log where our student explorers take us to places far and wide from bustling cities it's a quiet corners of the world they're giving us a front row seat to their Adventures 1 story at a time let's see where they're headed this time going out here in the city for hours who's out here if you hadn't guessed on Sprout your guide through this massive state like how the state Wild Rose and the state bird is a Easter Bluebird both beautiful things look at you so long right here how do you get here before I guess and Addison it's actually a combination of 3 Manhattan is actually just as the subsection of the mirror which is surprisingly not New York it's actually Albany although New York City was the capital in the early days say I have no clue why they changed it whatever uh we're running out of time I'll quickly take your part we made it I don't actually have that much to say here I told you about how Central Park is actually full mandate I mean the the nature and stuff is all really all this all these trees and stuff and other birds over there like all that but this is design design is clearly made up okay I'll try you know inside this thing we we won't be doing I mean you can even go inside the crowd we we won't I mean you can I I want that's a bit too high up to me I I can't handle that I mean I might but what time is up I'll see you some other time maybe I'll tour some other state or country or maybe I'll just never do this again who knows I hope you enjoyed your time in the Ember Empire State with me as your tour guide and and uh right wow that's almost as cool as our field trip to Tampa for stn oh you know what I love what we didn't even don't have to leave the studio and we still get to travel the world zero jet lag zero luggage sure but let's be real nothing beats the real deal you can't taste gelato or sunburned through a sunscreen axle okay fair but I stand by Studio travel no passport required poor taken now for something a little cinematic last semester students and video production picked famous high school movie scenes to recreate and let's just say they understood the assignment there were some epic moments remember the hallway scene from The Breakfast Club and who could forget the Mean Girls candy 18 gram scene with a surprise Cameo from a certain feature candy cane grounds okay hurry up shout out to Mr Sosa but the 1 we had to show you the Masterpiece is the Cheese Touch from Diary of a Wimpy Kid you might might even spot some familiar but slightly younger faces in this 1 Stop good man almost got the Cheese Touch what the Cheese Touch 1 day a kid named Darren Walsh made the biggest mistake of his life had the Cheese Touch worst that you can let go cheese the only way to get rid of the Cheese Touch was by passing it on to someone else and so began the cheese that Frenzy friend turned on friend was Madness until a German exchange student named Tito nullor took it away that fateful day Peter has a cheese touch the Cheese Touch pulled back with this order and took the cheese touch with him and so the cheese sits patiently waiting for its next victim wow wow terrible place instant classic what you heard and now before we sign off we want to leave you with a little inspiration from 2 filmmakers who remind us why we
