🎬 PearlTV — Episode 1 (2025–2026 School Year) Episode Description: PearlTV is officially back — and closing out 2025 with a huge kickoff episode! Anchors Marina and Zarina guide us through our first broadcast of the new school year, featuring brand-new segments and standout student work from across the Video Production program. We open with an exclusive look at the STN HorrorFest Student Showcase, where Advanced Film Production crews debut their original short thrillers and horror films, all shot on our newly upgraded Blackmagic cinema equipment. Next, PearlTV launches a new recurring series: Spotlight on Staff. Each episode, we’ll highlight one of the incredible educators or team members who make DPMHS such a unique and supportive community. We finish strong with Meet Your Classmates, a creative introduction to the newest filmmakers in our Year 1 Video Production classes. These personal profiles spotlight student voices and the diverse experiences they bring to our program. This episode marks the start of a new year of storytelling — and the final broadcast before Winter Break. welcome back Daniel Pearl Magnet High School so I'm Marina and I'm Zarina and this is the very first official Pro TV broadcast of the new school year and sadly the last episode of 2025 reminder Winter break starts next week yeah what are you planning do over Briggs right now besides eating of course honestly sleep a lot and maybe binge watch every movie at the end of time for this semester same I'm basically going to have a nation except I'll definitely be waking up for hot chocolate and the malice of course you are but before we have head into the vacation mode we've got an amazing episode for you up first our Advanced Film Production students created original short films for the national student television networks horror Fest competition these products were entirely produced by student Crews using our new Blackmagic Cinema equipment cool just like our new state of the art black magic broadcast studio right these horrify shorts range from psychological thrillers to Supernatural stories here's this year's horror Fest short film showcase guys that was like really good yeah we should try it again no no I don't do guys bro what do you what what ghosts the Daniel Pearl ghosts you know they come out at 6 30 dude that's not true my locker you guys handle don't don't call me stupid dude you just you are bro what you have any of you guys seen most recently oh that's so weird yeah I haven't seen him since first either that's dog don't forget your notebook yeah thank you I guess it should go like look for him or something it's just go look in the Halls what oh my God what the I'm stuck those films were so good the creativity is seriously off the charts right I'm still think thinking about that 1 seen like the most ever make it out of that backpack I mean I saw him at lunch today so I think he's okay thank goodness next let's launch our new recurring segment staff stories each episode we interview a different staff member to learn the story and why they love working here let's check out our first Spotlight staff member Miss Lupe hello my name is Aura and Yankovic reporting for Pearl TV today I'll be interviewing our office technician Miss Lupe what inspired you to become an office technician um for many years I've been working with the district for many years and I used to be a TA but I got to a point where like um I think I'm over in being in the classroom I want to continue helping you know the teach the students the teachers and the parents so a friend of mine asked me like do you want to take the test and I think that was the best idea to do to take the test as an office technician have you noticed like any changes from when you started Daniel Pearl well let's see I when I started in my first year I was only here for for 4 hours so 4 hours I would get here at 8:30 and leave by 12:30 so I barely got to know any students and teachers cuz when I get here everybody was already in class and when I left everybody was not yet at lunch so nobody really able to sing me here and there and then the following year that's when I start working my 8 hours so you know it's it's still even 300 400 like we used to have it was still amount for you to know parents and students but not us now like now it's like I feel more like we're more together like it's really a family like everybody knows each other and it's it's a great you know in a bigger School you would able to do that what advice would you give to students who want to succeed in high school I just want to say for them not to give up I was to try uh their best uh and then to focus on their time management and then the most most important is to like develop a good study habit and then stay organized and of course always no matter where you are either in a high school or in college you know don't don't ever forget to ask for help it's oh it's okay to ask for help you know none of us are perfect so we always need sometimes an advice from somebody else because sometimes we're working too hard and we don't see it and like we get all stressed or frustrated but somebody else can see the same in a different way from you and you're like oh this was so easy in this way so I was you know it could be another adult a teacher even a classmate so I always forget to ask for help you sacrifice that like he was in office that also follow I tried my best yes like if I can't do like usually I Rely and you know whoever is around me like I will ask them even as a for me as you guys and students like um you know I can do anything like if I don't know how much in school it let's say I was looking for something you guys see some more than I do so I'm like guys help me so I'm always uh for yeah I try to use as much as I can who has been a role model or inspiration throughout your career well not necessarily as my career because unfortunately my 2 parents are already passed away but I feel like uh for years of my parents where I was being my role model uh we were I was raised in Mexico so my 2 parents were always working uh hard enough to make sure out of all the 6 kids that they have that all my siblings will have you know a home something to you know move forward we're lucky that all of the 6 uh we were able to you know get a career moving forward uh let everybody has you know a nice job they went to college they they became their own family so my for always needs my parents my parents would I always figure out if they had their own job but they needed to look for something else they wouldn't tell that they just would move forward and look for something to make sure that we always have what we needed what's 1 Thing students might be surprised to learn about you I don't know but a lot of you I don't know if a lot of the students know that I'm not a director fan I know I'm I apologize man so to me I don't know if a lot of kids know but especially yes or whenever they don't forget to bring your blue I'm like uh I barely have any I'm not a dire fan um also uh to my like I don't know if you still know that I love playing volleyball and I used to play for the volleyball for many years and also a soccer ball so I to do like uh other parts when they have uh teams for adults I used to do the girls ball um softball and the Coweta which is guys and girls so thank you very much for the interview you're welcome thank you thank you for watching my name is year 1 video reduction they create purple pieces introducing the newest members of our program this segment is called meet your crew and this episode was created by Valley Sanchez and here's the 6 feature student Caleb Saji roll the get your crew segment this is Daniel Pearl Magna High School a small School located in Lake Balboa here's a student who attends the school sophomore Caleb s and here are 3 fun facts about him the first fun fact about Caleb is that he plays a lot of basketball he's been playing ever since he was 9 years old and continues to play to this day and that's funny I don't buy him I make them now moving on to his acting career Caleb has been acting for a while now he has featured in a show pilot and does commercials he also creates music he began his journey about a year ago and makes a lot of hip-hop tracks as a way to express himself something you might be surprised to learn about Caleb is that he loves to play games some of his favorites are for Night Minecraft and jacksmith when he graduates he plans to go to a 4-year University either in person at a campus or online he would also like to continue his acting career C okay sharks that wraps up our
