Volunteer/Community Service
Looking for Volunteer Opportunities?
- The opportunities are endless! There are multiple locations and websites to find volunteer opportunities and there are various types of volunteer opportunities.
- Some students do tutoring, some feed/clothe those in need, some do clean up, some are mentor/camp counselors...even on Zoom.
- Some do it with friends, others do it by themselves or with an organization.
- Some do it through school, others through church, others through organizations that are based on their career interest. Example: If you love the ocean, you can help at a beach clean up, river clean up.
- Join or create a club and do some volunteer work with your club.
- DPMHS does not require you to do community service, but we do encourage you to reach out and give a helping hand. Show your community how much you care for it and those in it. The more you do now, the more you will do when you are in college.
Required Documents
It is recommended you keep accurate records of your volunteer experience in case a college or organization request to see them. These are some types of records to use:
- Photographs
- Letters from supervising staff
- Certificate of Participation
- Log sheet with date, time, description location and supervisor's signature. You may use the attached Community Service Log.
